The best news you will ever hear!
God is perfect and without sin (Lev. 19:2) and is the loving creator of the entire universe and the giver of life to all people (Isa. 42:5). Since God created everything, He is also the ultimate King and Lord with the right to rule creation as He sees fit (Acts 17:24-25, 30-31).
God created mankind in His image (Gen. 1:27). God loved mankind so much that out of all the things He created it was only after God created mankind that creation was declared very good (Gen. 1:31). And God blessed mankind by placing them in the Garden of Eden where they were able to commune face-to-face with God and enjoy the fruits of God's creation (Gen. 1:28-30; 2:8-24).
Sadly in the Garden of Eden, mankind rebelled against God and as a result sin and death entered into creation (Gen. 3). That first rebellion has echoed across time and now all of mankind is incapable and unwilling to please God (Eph. 2:1-3) because every single person is a sinner (Rom. 3:23) who is willfully ignorant and passionately rebellious against God (Rom. 1:18-23). Thus, every single person has earned God's righteous wrath and is condemned to death (Rom. 2:5).
The Good News is that God has made A WAY for mankind to escape the penalty it has earned due to its sinfulness. And that single way is the Son of God, Jesus Christ (Jn. 14:6). Jesus paid the penalty for our sins through His death, burial, and resurrection (1 Cor. 15:3-4). His sacrifce is the ultimate act of love (Rom. 5:8). Since through the sacrifce of Jesus those who trust Him are justified in the eyes of God (Rom. 3:25-26) and are gifted eternal life (Jn. 3:16).
God did all the work to save us from ourselves. God loved the world so God sent Jesus. Jesus paid the penalty for our sins so that we may live. Salvation is 100% from start to finish a gift from God. Salvation cannot be earned and it certaintly is not deserved. Only by faith and faith alone is a person saved (Gal. 2:15-16). Thus, Jesus calls on us to REPENT and BELIEVE (Mk. 1:15).
Biblically to repent means to turn away from your sinful actions and desires. And to believe means to have faith (i.e. trust and depend) on Jesus alone and what He did on the cross. No special prayer or ritual is required, you just need to accept Jesus as the ruler of your life, thereby turning away from your sin and trust in His death, burial, and resurrection and you will be saved (Rom. 10:9-10).
